Happy Halloween!

GOT MILK?

This sneaky little boy got into his brother's treats and decided to help himself.

The Flu...

This is what happens when Mommy is sick and Daddy is working...
Fortunately I felt so awful from fever, chills and lack of sleep that I didn't even care that there was cereal everywhere (that is not an exaggeration), an obstacle course of toys, and a Christmas movie playing on tv. Actually, that made me smile a little.

I am happy to report that we are all doing much better. I never want to get sick again but I don't think that is a very realistic plan!

Quick kidism...

My oldest son is learning about giving compliments and "filling each others buckets" with nice things. Tonight as we were putting them to bed he said, "Mommy, I really like your shirt. It's nice. Does that fill your bucket?"
HOW CUTE IS THAT!!!

Later...a chilling tale worthy of Halloween about a young family who spent the weekend in swine flu "h-e-double hockey sticks"(insert evil laugh).

The East Coast Adventures of Grammy and Gramps II

Grammy and Gramps are still enjoying the beautiful scenery on the east coast. They have had great weather with the exception of one day where their plans to hike at Mt. Washington were foiled by rain. They made plans to attempt that hike again today.

You may assume that Grammy and Gramps are getting on in their years but don't let their names fool you! You are only as old as you feel and after climbing a steep trail of boulders in search of moose on the Glen Boulders Trail in White Mountain National Forest they shouln't feel any older than 25! They have also been able to experience many other sights during hikes including the vibrant colors, waterfalls, and streams. During one afternoon they had the chance to visit Thunder Hole in Acadia National Park and took a drive on Kancamagus Scenic Byway. By the looks of it these are two breathtaking sights!

They plan to continue their quest for moose and undiscovered territory in Vermont. They send their love to everyone!

Dear grocery store checker...

I would just like to say thank you for working so hard and putting up with all the crazy woman who come in your store with millions of coupons. I appreciate the fact that it may make more work for you and make the customer behind me wait an extra 30 seconds but it saves me an awful lot of money.

I will continue to shop at your lovely store but the next time I come through your line please refrain from scoffing or smirking at the bagger when I ask you if you scanned a coupon. I work very hard to save my family money and, while I will excuse your actions due to your inexperience and immaturity, I would appreciate your respect. Even 50 cent coupons (this one happened to be $3!) add up over the span of a year and that extra money allows me to stay home with my children. So the next time someone hands you a stack of coupons bottle those frustrations inside and save for the gym.

Sincerely,
Super Mom

If you want to see what I bought and how much I saved check it out here!

I am...

a cook.
a maid.
a chauffeur.
a friend.
a church member.
a sister.
a daughter.
a wife.
A MOM!
After I had my last son I thought to myself...now I get to enjoy them and watch them grow! I will have more time for myself and I should start pursuing the things I love. Well, it took me a few months to realize it but I do LOVE what I am doing. Perhaps I am having one those days where everything has gone right (which it has) but despite having all my ducks in a row today I would still say that I truly love what I am doing.

I don't have the time for myself that I thought I would and many of my hobbies have taken somewhat of a backseat to my other responsibilities but I am okay with that. I know there will come a time when my kids are grown and when that day comes I want to look back and know that I did all I could for them when they were young. For me, that means being a stay-at-home mom and making sure they have everything they need. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my job because I know I am the ONLY one who can do it!
